The Rocket Summer is the rock solo-project of 26 year old Bryce Avary, and is based in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. This song hit me like a ton of bricks. It’s not often that I can find something that strikes me with such intensity…and I am in awe that it’s only the production of one person’s amazing vision of what could be an entire band’s work. From the piano riffs to the powerful drums and versatile vocals, Avary’s talent cannot be overlooked. But then again, I am a sucker for great piano-punk like Something Corporate, and any song that utilizes great hooks and vocal harmonies. And I will be overplaying it!!!
I’m really bummed I discovered this RIGHT when he left NYC! I can only imagine the energy of one of his live shows.
