A friend told me about a poll from ESPN that 47 out of the 50 states hate the New York Yankees. This song is bumping on the radio in most of the country, and its almost as if they are being forced to revel in the Yankees victory. It just goes to show that New York is the “Center of the Universe” :)
I say we should just enjoy both songs. Sinatra’s will always be a timeless...

“In honor of the New York Historical Society’s upcoming Grateful Dead exhibition, the Empire State Building is going to be tie dye tomorrow. At press time, we were unable to confirm how in the world this was going to happen, short of dosing the entire city with acid and hoping everyone sees beautiful melting colors shining off the building.” via Gothamist

Typical day in NYC... →
This is absolutely hysterical. Fox 5 and Entertainment Tonight were filming footage outside the Late Show yesterday and caught footage of even more drama. It’s a pedicab driver vs. a taxi driver battling it out in true New York fashion. Epic.

As a freelance writer for multiple music websites, I have been getting “paid” in the form of free cd’s, digital tracks, concert tickets, getting on the band’s guest list, press passes, etc. I’d like to hope that writers are being objective in their reviews and getting involved in what they are passionate about and not being influenced by the fact that they got...

It pays to be a reality star →
MTV’s The Hills is one of my admitted guilty pleasures. As another season heats up, new dirt comes to life. Finding out how much these girls makes is nauseating…but makes me wonder if it’s really THAT easy to make money these days for doing absolutely nothing. I’m sure that my friends and I galavanting around NYC is just as entertaining!
That said, I’m actually...

I wish the title and artist of the song someone is listening to on their ipod would float above their head while walking down the street.

Soundtrack to My Life: 9/22
I’m going to start making this a regular post whenever I feel like songs have come into my head and won’t get out…or anything that has given me an extra boost of inspiration.
Today I happened to walk 40 blocks through Midtown after work because I got completely wrapped up in NYC and my thoughts that I just felt the need to keep walking and feel the energy that was coming my way....

Feeling Nostalgic
Back in June of 2007 I moved to NYC with nothing but a gigantic duffel bag and my laptop. I had just taken over a sublet with my college roommate and a mutual friend in midtown Manhattan and had to wait 3 days until I got a bed. My room had no windows and it was hot as hell, especially because summer was just starting to take over. I was unemployed and my savings was depleting by the hour. People...
I totally fell in love with Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship after the VMA’s :) I don’t care that I’m like 10 years older than the majority of their fan base but they rock! Not to mention its my dream to be a chick in an all guy band…coolest gig ever.

Recaps: How to Win the Chicks On American Idol →
Its only the beginning and I don’t have enough information yet to build a bonafide American Idol post…but this boy Kris Allen will be the reason I watch. Its all about the eye candy. As far as pretty boy Adam, no thanks. I’m not ok with the Pete Wentz straightened reverse mullet hair or the squealing voice either.

Short and Sweet NYC: I WAS THERE . . . Pepper @... →
My first show I attended solo. It was liberating and refreshing and I had a blast. It was the second time I saw Pepper in 2008 (first at Bamboozle) and the vibe they put out from such a small venue was unbelievable. Highly praised concert review and photos for Short and Sweet NYC which is one of my current freelance projects and also one of my favorite music sites.

Here goes. I am a freelance writer living in New York City for the past 2 years. I’m totally new at this blog thing but figured it was time to catch up to the digital world and commit to being a legitimate writer.
Music, New York City and the people around me are a huge inspiration in my life and it’s what most of this blog will entail. It’s all part of who I am so take what you...
